When Life Changes

Updated: Jun 23

Change. It’s one of the few things in life that’s guaranteed—whether it’s a job that ends, moving to a new city, a shift in relationships or even a sudden global event that rocks the world.

You do not need to fear change - the Lord is with you
You do not need to fear change - the Lord is with you

Change can feel scary, disorienting, even lonely. But here’s the good news: you don’t have to navigate it alone. Not now. Not ever.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” Psalm 46:1–2

If you’re in a season where everything feels up in the air, or nothing looks like it used to, know this: the Spirit of God is with you, even in the upheaval.

In a world that feels increasingly unpredictable - from global conflict, economic uncertainty, war and rumors of war to personal identity journeys and relationship challenges - many of us are asking: “Where is God in all this?” The answer? Right here.

God is not surprised by our challenges and the changes we encounter. In fact, change is often the very soil where new life is planted. Sometimes, what feels like an ending might be the Lord making space for a new beginning.

“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on God to guide you, and the Lord will lead you in every decision you make.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Faith in the Fog

You might not see the whole picture right now and that’s okay. Most of us don’t. God doesn’t always hand us the full map. Instead, we are asked to walk by faith - step by step and day by day.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me.” Psalm 23:4

Sunsets and New Beginnings

Think of Abraham leaving home not knowing where he was going, or Mary saying yes to the unknown. God has always moved through moments of change in the lives of those who follow God’s will and voice.

Change doesn’t always feel good, but it often leads to good

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone

Scripture tell us that we are not alone during times of change. Find people who will walk with you - who can BE there when life shifts. Find a faith family who will support you, encourage you and stir your faith when life shifts beneath your feet.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Galatians 6:2

Your Lifeline - prayer

You don’t need perfect words when you pray and you don’t need to have it all figured out. Just speak honestly to the Lord - cry if you need to, sit in silence if that’s all you’ve got. The Spirit meets us where are at, but God will not leave us unchanged in the valley.

Ask the Lord for direction, for strength and for peace. Don't forget to listen...

“Call to me and I will answer you, and show you great and hidden things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3

Final Thoughts

Whatever is shifting in your world right now, God is with you. So keep walking. Keep trusting. Keep looking for God’s hand and listen for God’s voice when lift shifts.
