The Greek word in the Bible for "alignment" is katartismos. It means to properly align or set in original order.
The term "katartismos" originates from the Greek root word "katartezo," which means to mend, restore, and perfectly join together. This root word, "kata," encompasses the essence of repairing, putting things in order, and restoring to an original state.
In Ephesians 4:11-12, the concept of "equipping" is closely associated with "katartismos," emphasising the idea of preparing, perfecting, and enabling individuals for purpose.
This process goes beyond mere fixing or repairing; it involves a restoration that brings about wholeness, completeness and UNITY.
Proper or authentic apostolic alignment causes the church to operate in unity and God's glory is always manifest where there is unity of spirit. It's in this spirit of unity that the Church grew in the book of Acts.
Unity comes first through a new spirit and then through a transformed heart and mind. It is the glue that strengthens the body of Christ because it is a unity built on God’s love.
Disunity comes when more importance is placed on carnal opinion, rather than prayerful reflection on what God’s word teaches, and it scatters the flock!
Stay in the UNITY of the Spirit, and you will stay in alignment with the purposes of God.
