In life, there will be struggles and disappointments, but we have the power of choice to establish how these circumstances create our future.

I was truly stirred by a scripture the Lord laid upon my heart during a time of true testing.

You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways. (Job 22:28 NASB)

Immediately the human mind goes, “Well Lord, you said in your word that if I ask it will be given to me.” Let’s unpack this. To make a declaration is to speak a thing into the heavens with the power of Holy Spirit within you, in order for there to be a manifestation.

We all claim to be Spirit-filled Christians, but how many of us spirit-filled Christians are using this in the wrong order?

I can’t speak into the heavens if I don’t firstly believe in the power of the blood. Are we truly living life God’s way to make such declarations?

Are we using the Word of God to call forth the gifts to be used for kingdom purpose? I was challenged in my spirit so deeply about what life I speak when I meet people on the street or at my workplace. I know in my heart that God has a plan and destiny for all God’s children.

In order to establish the kingdom by the utterances of our words – not by flesh, but by the spirit – we need to be in alignment with God’s word. Start by having the same pure thoughts as Christ did, having a passion for Christ, and allowing the supernatural to become the natural in our lives.

In my own life, I never used to fully understand Matthew 6:33 (NIV) Seek first the kingdom of God and all God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you, until I received the revelation that seeking God first, means seeking everything of the spirit first wholeheartedly.

I want God to use me for God’s purpose, not mine. I want to carry on the work that Jesus called us to do. Is your heart beating for the same things the Lord’s heart beats for?

Make strong spiritual declarations today, to change and shift atmospheres. Speak life, not death into a current circumstance and situation. Be grateful and thankful for daily blessings over your life. Ask God to complete the work that God has started in your heart.

Be the change you want to see happen in this world today.
