devotional-david-newOne of my earliest memories of Sunday school was learning about our amazing God, and how God created everything in nature.

In fact, all God did was just speak out, and it happened. Throughout the account of creation, (Gen 1:1-31) the verses are peppered with the phrase “…it was good.” And that is the key to our relationship with God – everything from God is good.

Many people, myself included, have received words and promises from God, yet months or even years later, we are still waiting for these “things” to occur.

Our impatience with God’s timing results in a lack of faith, and we start to doubt God. But here is the issue: When God speaks, IT IS GOOD. If God’s words were enough to bring about creation, then what can we expect when God speaks to us today? Through Christ, all the promises of God are fulfilled in our lives, and that means that as we walk with God, in Christ, then all God’s promises will become evident.

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (2 Cor 1:20 NIV)

As we hear on the TV ads: But wait, there’s more!

Not only will the promises of God be fulfilled in our lives, but God will bless us with more than we could possibly imagine – way over and above anything we could long for.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (Eph 3:20 NLT)

Isn’t that just amazing?

So when it feels like things are not going your way, that life has been a little rough around the edges or you are wondering if God is still “out there”, remember the promises and the Words of God that have been spoken to you and know that God will make it so.

“…and God said…and it was so.”
